ARCH (Advocacy and Research Centre for Homelessness) is a Tokyo-based nonprofit organisation that works with communities to promote social change towards an inclusive society.
Since January 2016, our bi-annual Tokyo Street Count has engaged more than 800 volunteers in learning and discussions about homelessness, and it has found that about 2.5 times more people are sleeping rough in central Tokyo at night time than the official figure produced through daytime counts.
By gathering momentum through community engagement activities, we seek a lasting Olympic legacy and innovative solutions to homelessness.
